The Choir
You hold the note, and they come up off the stones one at a time.
The glass bells first, thin and exact. Then the music box, half a beat late. Then the organ, low enough to feel through your shoes. The banshee rises last and does not sing. She hangs above the others with her head down, and they come into time with her.
You hold your note under theirs until your breath runs out.
If you wrote down NAMED, you sing the name you left in the Log on the last of the breath, and the banshee turns her head toward you.
Nobody tells you it is the wrong note.
- Walk in between the organ and the bells, and sing with them. Found under the door “Most nights end not with a crash but with a small, bounded number of mistakes.” this page is not cut yet; the path bends to The Chute, Again
- Stop singing. Wait for one of them to hum to you.
- Follow a small rolling sound out past the last stone. Found in the chute “The shortest way is the one you don't take twice.” this page is not cut yet; the path bends to Sing It Back
