A report we needed

A tester finds Floating Ink slowing down after many drops, which we'd never have found ourselves.

Redline · Candy Crawl · Floating Ink

Today our first report came in from someone we don't know. A tester on an iPhone 12, using Floating Ink, wrote that the dish gets sluggish after a lot of ink drops.

They're right, and we'd never have seen it. On a newer phone, and in the way we test, nobody keeps going that long. They did, which is what happens once marbling gets its hooks in you.

So the dish now has a test that drops 50 and then 500 rings of ink and times every frame. The fix is in progress, and it has one job: the five hundredth drop should feel as light as the first. The tester will be named in the app's thank-you page, in whatever way they'd like, or as "an anonymous tester on iPhone 12" if they'd rather stay that way.

Thanks

  • Thank you to that tester. This is exactly what TestFlight is for.
