The path comes out of the oaks at a bridge. At the far end of it a steel owl stands across from the library, whose glass prow is lit on every floor and leans out over the water.
You cross the bridge, pass the owl, and climb the library steps. Behind you the five stand, small teal shapes a step apart, in the order you lit them. A woman in a library lanyard is sweeping. She sweeps around them.
They read back the lines on the tags, one at a time, in more voices than five. If you wrote down NAMED, the first of them says the name you left in the Log, and then its line.
The first: There, hovering just above the ground near the thicket of ferns, is a silver cube. The second: I have not told anyone. The third: They had not tried to move it. The fourth: It is colder in the light. The fifth: The square of silver did not speak.
When the last line is done they stay where they are. You set your lantern on the top step, lit. The woman sweeps around it too.
- Go in and climb the library's lit floors to the roof garden.
- Walk back up the creek to the block of doors. Found in the chute “It is possible to see the light and still hit the rock.” this page is not cut yet; the path bends to Congress Avenue Ends at the Sea
the end, for now
