Three new faces

Three apps get icons that look made by hand, and the Tide Pool's first jetty goes out with the tide.

Freetail · Floating Ink · Candy Crawl · Waypoint

Three of the apps were wearing placeholder icons, the kind you stop seeing after a week. Today Freetail got a bat at dusk over the Congress Avenue Bridge, Floating Ink got the marbling dish and its brush, and Candy Crawl got the witch on her candy-corn path, drawn from the game's own sprites.

My first try at the bat was one cartoon on three backgrounds, which isn't three ideas. Each direction now starts from a different material and from the real animal.

In the evening the Tide Pool began: the granite jetty at Port Aransas, as a pop-up book. Open the phone and the tide goes out. The fish in this first version look like they're wearing tartan. They won't for long.

Thanks
