Unrequited Love

I wanted to confess my feelings
the night we laid like spoons
but how could I speak
with you so close to me
I needed just to be in silence

words seemed so vulgar and contrived
unfit to intrude upon our perfect moment
in the present, in your profound absence
I question if I dreamt it all and
what it meant to fall in

unrequited
unrequited
unrequited
love

Didn't know it
When I met you
Too much feeling
Makes me anxious
Aaaaa

I still love you
I still need you
I still love you
I still need you
I still love you
I still need you

Didn’t know me
I was searching
Pushed and pulled just
Couldn’t cope then
Aaaaa

I still love you
I still need you
I still love you
I still need you
I still love you
I still need you

Strophe and Catastrophe

Poem by Ed Buffaloe

Anthropocene catastrophe haunts us, Cyclic crisis come round again.
I come round too, anguished beggar
that I am, despised and alone.

Each morning welcomes tea and emptiness,
confusion in the heart, chaos in the planet,
windrows aflame in some quiet corner of hell,
endless possibilities for change.

Everyone senses a reckoning is at hand,
a strange twisted future beckoning, and
everyone longs for the freedom of the storyteller
making up the song as he goes along.

Until Its Time

Feast for two
Feel it all
Lie with me
Here to stay

Heart in knots
Nerves like knives
Hope's alive
Come inside

We die alone
The rest unknown
Hold me close
Until its time

Death wails
Being bliss
We expire
We exist

Some days chickens

Night with the Living and the Dead

the hush of gallery lights where memories stir

I return to Umlauf’s green hush—

once, ten years ago, vows drifted like petals under this sun.

Tonight, basil-scented ice clinks in my glass,

a toast to what was, to what remains.

sculptures stand silent,

limbs carved from stone,

echoes of laughter we shared—

I trace a pavilion’s curve,

remember the tremor of your hand in mine.

later, West Fifth’s glow beckons—

How to Create a DIY Sound Baffle Using Quilled Paper, Upcycled Cloth, String, and Cardboard

Why Make a DIY Sound Baffle?

Sound baffles are effective at reducing noise and echo in a room by absorbing sound waves, making spaces more comfortable for conversation, music, and general activities. By using upcycled materials like quilled paper, cloth, string, and cardboard, you can create a functional and beautiful baffle that also supports sustainability. This project is ideal for improving sound quality in home studios, libraries, meeting rooms, or any space where noise reduction is beneficial.

How to Upcycle Foam Sheets, Cardboard, and *Tillandsia recurvata* for a Living Sound Baffle

Why Make a Living Sound Baffle?

A sound baffle reduces noise, absorbs echoes, and improves acoustics in a space. By incorporating foam sheets, cardboard, and Tillandsia recurvata (Ball Moss), we can create a functional, beautiful, and sustainable acoustic panel that also purifies air and supports biodiversity.

This method follows the ReLeaf ethos—turning waste materials into adaptable, living systems that evolve with their environment.
